The Day of Yuth in Georgia and in the World
Abstract
The role of youth is one of the decisive factors in the progress of the modern world. Realizing their challenges and opportunities should be the main priority of any country. This is the reason why August 12 is celebrated as the International Youth Day in different countries of the world, including Georgia.This paper reflects the tendencies of celebrating the International Youth Day - August 12 in developed western and developing Georgia. As it turns out, the level of development of the country significantly determines the focus on the young segment and, consequently, the scale of the International Youth Day.A review of examples of Youth Day celebrations in Georgia reveals that, unlike in Western countries, this day is less popular in Georgia and is celebrated with relatively primitive activities such as sports competitions, photo exhibitions and more. However, in recent years, August 12 popularization trends have also been observed. Revealed, relatively active in the celebration of Youth Day, in which the role of international organizations and the Youth Agency is crucial.It is important to raise public awareness about the International Youth Day and its celebration. The role of various state institutions in this process is crucial. The main value of the present work is to increase the popularity of this day, which is directly proportional to the empowerment of the next generation.References
